We went BIG in the 80s. Big hair, big suits, big phones and, starting in 1982, the first big FUSO heavy-duty truck.

Now it’s time to go even bigger with the new FUSO Shogun 530, a 13-litre hauler with the biggest power figure of any Japanese truck – 530 horsepower. It can haul big weights too, up to 70 tonne GCM, and comes packed with advanced safety.

FUSO Shogun 530. Because bigger has always been better

As the flagship of Fuso’s heavy truck range, the Shogun is built for demanding interstate transportation and distribution and high GCM combination work. This is a heavy-duty truck is designed to handle proper loads over proper distances.

Available as both a prime movers and heavy rigid trucks, the Shogun range gives you flexibility. Whether you’re running a national freight company or managing a regional fleet, it’s built to get the job done.

Explore the Fuso Shogun Configurations

Every fleet runs differently. Some businesses are focused on long-haul prime mover work, pulling at high GCM across major freeways. Others need a heavy rigid truck that can consistently carry serious payloads across metro and regional routes.

The Fuso Shogun range covers both.

Prime mover truck variants, including 4x2 and 6x4 configurations, are designed for linehaul and combination freight where torque, stability and durability matter most. Heavy rigid configurations deliver strong GVM capacity for interstate delivery and distribution operations.

Fuso Shogun Key Highlights

Engine Output and Torque

The Shogun 530 runs a 13 litre 6R30 engine from Mitsubishi Fuso producing 530 horsepower and up to 2,600 Nm of torque. The Shogun 400 and 460 are powered by the proven Mercedes-Benz OM470 engine. The Shogun 460 delivering around 335 kW of power and 2200 Nm of torque and the Shogun 400 producing 290 kW of power and 2000 Nm of torque. At the heart of the Shogun 360 is a 7.7L high-output diesel engine delivering 260 kW of power and 1,400 Nm of torque.

Advanced Transmission and Drivetrain

Backing up the engine is a 12-speed automated manual transmission that takes a lot of the effort out of driving. It shifts smoothly on its own, keeping the truck in the right gear whether you’re climbing, cruising or manoeuvring around depots. Eco Roll helps reduce fuel use on long highway stretches, while Crawler mode gives you precise low-speed control when positioning trailers or moving in tight yards. It’s practical technology. It makes a heavy duty truck easier to drive and more efficient to run, whether you’re operating it as a prime mover truck or heavy rigid truck.

Advanced Safety Features

The Shogun range is fitted with a strong safety suite, featuring Auto Emergency Braking (ABA 6), Sideguard Assist (ASA 2.0) with improved detection and warnings on both sides of the vehicle, Front Blind Spot Information System (FBSIS), Active Attention Assist and Lane Departure Warning. These systems work together to help protect the driver, the vehicle and other road users.

These features are designed to help lower the risk of collisions and reduce driving fatigue on busy highways. Driver attention monitoring also helps identify signs of tiredness, helping drivers stay focused and more confident during longer hauls.

Comfort and Technology

Drivers spend a big part of their day in the cab, so comfort isn’t a luxury - it’s part of productivity and a necessity.

The Shogun range cabins offer ISRI air-suspended seating, climate control and a layout that’s practical and easy to use. Controls are straightforward, displays are clear and there’s enough space to make long days manageable. Bluetooth connectivity, navigation capability and camera support are available, helping drivers stay connected and aware without cluttering the experience. It’s the sort of setup that helps reduce fatigue over time, which matters when your business relies on consistency.
